Maybe it is because I only used film in 27-exposure disposable cameras, and learned photography on a digital camera. Maybe, it is because I’m an overly nostalgic millennial. Or, maybe it is because I want to spend too much money on rolls of film and processing costs.
Either way, I leaped back in time and began shooting film while covering assignments for the A-J. Then came the decision on which camera to buy. The question was solved fairly quickly with my eyes set on the Canon 1V. It would allow me to seamlessly switch between cameras while in the field. Thus, I began scouring eBay and came across a lightly used copy of the camera.
For the second straight year, Texas Tech hosted the NCAA baseball regional. This time as the number 5 national seed.
For the second straight year, the Texas Tech baseball team were named Big 12 champions in the regular season. Ok. Well, technically they’re co-champions this year. Either way, the Red Raiders hoisted the trophy up in the air again.
You can also see more photos from games 1, 2 and 3 on the A-J.
The Red Raiders were down for a couple innings but eventually came back to win the first game 10-6.
I always enjoy spending the day outside shooting track and field events. This weekend was one of those times with the state track and field meet happening down in Austin. And to add more excitement to the trip, New Deal won both the boy’s and girl’s team trophies. Anyways, here’s a fraction of the pictures I took from the three-day event.
Thursday, we woke up at the crack of dawn to take Carlos to Franklin Barbecue. The field events didn’t start until late in the afternoon. Which allowed him time to sit in line all day for the brisket, ribs and turkey. We also went downtown for some Voodoo Donuts. Even though the trip was work focused, I was able to get about 15 rolls of film developed at Holland Photo Imaging. So, you can expect to see more about those photos when I finish scanning the pictures.
Right as the field events were about to begin, lightning struck in the area. Eventually causing an hour or so delay to the day.
